A giddy child’s breath
tufts of life find new purchase
blooms of sunshine spread.

The Dandy Effect is our entry to the Cozy Spring Jam 2025 hosted by Virtual Turtle Games. We aimed to make a cozy spring game with the added twist of including the Butterfly Effect. Small choices and actions that add up to a larger effect. With a single breath on a dandelion tuft, a whole field of flowers can grow, which we aimed to show in this game.

I'm drowning in dandelions.

Mind if I tweak the code to see how many dandelions I can fit on one screen?

Sure! No guarantees past 1k though ;).

Appearantly My PC can only handle so many dandelions at once... I had to hard reboot it

before it crashed, the counter I set up had 10,100 on it.

Wow! So beautiful! It is such a relaxing experience!
The dandelions gradually increase, and the idea of making a wish when sending off the fluff is really lovely.
After playing normally at first, I feel like playing again, so I do it again, but this time I do not buy Gust and instead increase them with the mouse cursor until the end.
The places I trace with the mouse change color later, and that also feels really nice to look at, meow~! 🐱

Thank you! It's been great fun for us to see more screens full of dandelions.

Nice short game.

Wow was this a good use of Butterfly effect, felt so satisfying for them to multiply so quickly at the end.

the Butterfly effect is something different, but I agree it is a very satisfying game :D
